pets at home Is it Bad if Cats Eat Dog Food?

I think my cat is confused. All she wants to do is eat the dog's food. Is it bad if cats eat dog food?

I don't think that is a good thing is it?

Well, I did a little bit of research earlier, and I found out that there are some dog foods that are okay for her to eat. Sort of.

What do you mean sort of? It's either bad or it isn't right?

All the stuff I read said that cats are not always directly affected by the food, but if they keep eating it, they get really fat and can become morbidly obese.

Oh man, I can't even imagine Prinkles getting fat. Although, with that name I think you would expect her to be a bit more on the hefty side.

Yeah, ha ha. I'm not sure what to do though, because I put Prinkles' food on the counter so that Sparky doesn't get into it, but I never thought it would be a problem the other way around.

Prinkles' will be able to get into it anywhere really so you may have to put her in another room while it is out. Maybe she is depressed and stress eating to get fat.

Because that's what I would do! When Brad broke up with me last month I was a wreck! Ate everything in sight.

That is just ridiculous. What would she have to be upset about?

I don't know. All I am saying is that I sought out the greasiest, fattiest foods to soothe my broken heart.

Prinkles' doesn't even go outside though. She has gotten out once and all she did was lay on the concrete in the sun.

It was just an idea. Maybe it is just something else.

Ugh, this is awful. Who the heck broke up with my cat?
