New 2017 Music Release | Trinidad & Tobago

Trinidadian Producer and DJ - Jonathan “J2M” Mark and Business Owner - Miguel Edwards are thrilled to welcome the first artist on their FAME Music label - Syo (whose real name is Simon Delph). Impelled by his passion for music he began pursuing a career as an artiste approximately five years ago by releasing songs such as “In the Air”, “Obey” and “Under Meh”. Syo is now ready to make his commanding introduction into the Carnival 2017 season with the release of his new single “My Life”.

The song is an eclectic fusion of musical genres such as Soca, EDM and Hip Hop, which is a combination that will indefinitely keep its’ listeners moving in aural delight. It is a likable high tempo song that is driven by powerful orchestral chords, passionate vocals and drums similar to that of the Laventille Rhythm Section. “My Life” was mixed by engineer Cole Nystrom, who has worked closely with both local and foreign artistes such as Michael Jackson, Machel Montano, Macy Gray, and Bob Marley. Additionally, it was mastered by Alex DeYoung, who has also worked with notable entertainers, including Machel Montano, Chinx, Brian McKnight, Keisha Cole, and Chrisette Michele. Both Nystrom and DeYoung are based in Los Angeles, California.

As an artiste, Syo has been building his name in the local circuit working with Trinidad and Tobago’s top producers, such as Kit Israel (Under Meh), Klase (Pogo Stick), Nikolai Greene (Obey) and David Millbeatz (Real Friends). He has also performed in numerous, popular fetes nationwide, including Ladies First and the International Soca Monarch Semi-finals.

Through the studio collaboration between Jonathan Mark and Songwriters Shumba Muhahali and Joel Feveck (Zan), the team was able to write both the music and lyrics, in addition to directing the song. Special thanks also goes out to Cassell George for his mellifluous contribution of additional instrumentation and Bajan -Julien Griffith for lending his expertise in vocal production.
